Position Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support the Justice Digital Program within Alberta Courts. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate multiple technology initiatives driving digital transformation program delivery stakeholder engagement and organizational change management across complex court technology projects.
This role requires a senior-level professional with extensive experience managing large-scale IT programs custom application development projects and multi-stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning execution monitoring and successful delivery of multiple IT projects within the Justice Digital Program.
Develop project charters business cases project plans schedules budgets and governance frameworks.
Define project scope objectives deliverables risks dependencies and resource requirements.
Manage custom application development and technology implementation projects.
Coordinate project teams vendors stakeholders and executive leadership.
Monitor project progress budgets risks issues and deliverables.
Facilitate stakeholder consultations and strategic discussions.
Prepare executive briefings status reports and presentations for senior leadership.
Support organizational change management communications and business transformation initiatives.
Ensure alignment with project management office (PMO) standards and governance requirements.
Develop performance metrics and outcomes measurement frameworks.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Alberta Courts stakeholders vendors and government departments.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
Candidates must meet one of the following:
University Degree and 4 years of Project Management experience; OR
Two-year Diploma and 6 years of Project Management experience; OR
One-year Certificate and 7 years of Project Management experience; OR
8 years of Project Management experience.
Experience
8 years of experience defining project scope and objectives with business stakeholders.
8 years of experience developing project charters business cases project plans and governance documentation.
8 years of experience managing custom application development projects.
8 years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
8 years of experience implementing complex IT solutions.
8 years of experience as a Senior Program Manager in large and complex environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Active PMP or PgMP Certification.
7 years of stakeholder relationship management experience.
5 years of project governance experience.
4 years of experience conducting risk and impact assessments.
4 years of experience managing project budgets and forecasts.
4 years of experience working with technical development teams.
4 years of experience delivering mandated or legislated projects.
3 years of public sector or government experience.
Experience providing recommendations on complex technical and business issues.
Work Arrangement
Onsite position in Edmonton Alberta.
Government-issued laptop or desktop will be provided.
Standard working hours: Monday to Friday 8:15 AM 4:30 PM Alberta Time.
Security Requirements
Criminal Record Check (Mandatory).
Enhanced Security Clearance including Credit Check required prior to project start.
Completion of mandatory Government of Alberta training programs.
