Plumbing Engineer

The Plumbing Engineer works closely with more experienced engineers and assists in the development of Plumbing deliverables. Thisindividual is expected to execute work on one or more intermediate level tasks simultaneously as delegated by the Lead or Sr. Plumbing Engineer. This role will have the ability to successfully support all phases of design including planning feasibility scope and concept development detailed design construction documentation and construction administration. 

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with clients and external partners. 
• Develops construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on basic projects of limited complexity with oversight.  
• Participates and contributes to squad checks and overall commitment to producing quality deliverables.  
• Provides mentorship to Plumbing Designer I.  
• Participates in basic project system design programming and master planning with support from Lead or Senior Engineer. 
• Executes work on one or more intermediate level tasks simultaneously as delegated by the Lead or Sr. Plumbing Engineer.  
• Assists in the drafting design and development of fire protection performance criteria drawings.   
• Delegates some basic and fundamental tasks to Entry-Level and Design staff. 
• Successfully supports all phases of design including planning feasibility scope and concept development detailed design construction documentation and construction administration. 
• Works closely with more experienced engineers and assists in the development of Plumbing deliverables. 
• Provides basic support of construction activities such as RFI responses submittal reviews punch list developmentand construction progress reports. 
• Develops and expands ability to coordinate effectively with other disciplines delegates interacts with clients and manages scopes of work and deliverables.  

Qualifications :

• ABET-accredited Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience 
• Proficiency in Revit 
• Basic experience with performing engineering calculations (such as plumbing fixture and drainage units and storm water) and developing and implementing plumbingsanitary waste drainage venting storm water and service piping systems designs under a supervisor 
• Basic experience with the plumbing/mechanical/fire/building codes 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and NavisWorks 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam Revu 
• LEED WELL or other sustainable design accredited professionalor experience with sustainable plumbing designs 
• Basic experience with other applicable industry standards
• Basic experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of fieldreporting 
• Proficient with basic internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination 
• Proficient with basic coordination with construction trade partners vendors and manufacturers
