The Office Assistant is responsible for greeting customers in person or on the phone answering and directing all inquiries. Provides general administrative and office support to all staff as well as provide support to the Underwriting department.
Key Accountabilities

Administrative Support
Pays invoices for supplies.
Prepares mail and other documents for shipping.
Prepares standard correspondence and/or letters.
Maintains up-to-date listings of internal staff and their areas of responsibility.
Prepares administrative and investigative reports.
Orders and maintains standard office supplies
Supports the Underwriting department
Customer Experience
Greets customers in person or by telephone.
Provides switchboard services by receiving transferring and/or referring calls to the appropriate department and/or person.
Ensures all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
Prioritizes workload to ensure a high level of customer service is achieved and maintained.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with claimants insureds brokers clients and service providers.
Leadership
Actively contributes to and support a culture of a high performing workforce.
Participates in divisional succession plans ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.
Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.
Is actively committed to leadership development across the company supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring training and developmental opportunities.
Corporate Management
Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate strategic and divisional strategies.
Manages risk in area of authority.
Ensures that the Health Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.
Education and Experience
Grade 12/GED
6 months 1 year experience in office administration.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of filing techniques and general office procedures.
Knowledge of procedures and practices in business operations.
Skill in Microsoft Word and Excel.
