Mechanical Engineering Technologist

Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects
- Assist in preparing design drawings and specifications
- Carry out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines components and materials
- Perform computer-aided design (CAD)
- Estimate project costs and material requirements
- Prepare and interpret engineering design drawings and specifications
- Prepare contracts and tenders
- Prepare standards and schedules
- Supervise maintenance programs or operation of mechanical plants
- Supervise monitor and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects
- Test machines and equipment
Prerequisites
Education
- College diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of directly related mechanical engineering technologist experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Mastercam CAD/CAM and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience preparing and interpreting technical drawings engineering designs and specifications
- Familiarity with mechanical systems equipment testing and construction or maintenance support activities
- Experience working in fast-paced industrial or engineering environments with changing priorities and deadlines

- Salary: $40.45 hourly / 40 hours per week
