Position Overview

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of facilities infrastructure in a dynamic regulated environment We are seeking a driven and strategic leader to oversee the delivery of a complex Facilities capital program where your work will directly influence operational excellence sustainability and long-term asset performance.


In this role youll move beyond project execution to lead at the program levelguiding high-impact capital initiatives from planning through delivery. Youll translate forward-looking asset renewal and decarbonization strategies into actionable plans ensuring projects are delivered safely efficiently and in alignment with cost schedule and quality expectations.

In this role you will:

  • Provides leadership for execution of the Facilities capital program aligned with approved multi-year capital plans.
  • Translates approved asset renewal and decarbonization strategies into executable project plans and delivery schedules.
  • Accountable and oversees complex and high value capital projects to ensure alignment with approved scope schedule cost and quality targets.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal business units contractors consultants and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Lead forecasting accrual validation variance analysis and capital reporting in partnership with Finance.
  • Develop and support facility capital business cases and contribute technical expertise to regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks including BC Building Code fire code requirements electrical standards and WorkSafeBC obligations.
  • Oversee contractor performance procurement processes and contract administration in alignment with corporate policy.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across project sites and ensure appropriate risk identification and mitigation.
  • Ensure sustainability energy efficiency and emissions reduction objectives are integrated into capital execution activities.
  • Provide leadership coaching and performance direction to Project Managers and professional staff.
  • Monitor program level performance and provide reporting to senior leadership on cost schedule and risk exposure.

What it takes:

  • A bachelors degree in engineering construction management facilities management or a related discipline with 4 years of experience delivering complex capital projects in a utility regulated or infrastructure environment.
  • Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the utility industry and its operating environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to support financial planning analysis and modeling.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage and interpret budgeting processes and financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced capability in Excel.
  • Strong systems aptitude with hands-on experience using SAP and financial management tools.
  • Valid drivers licence.

Additional Information

This position requires travel throughout our service territory.

In this role you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week) subject to business or operational needs.
