Overview
Reporting to the Estimating Manager Reactor Services and Major Projects the Cost Analyst is responsible for executing cost estimating and analysis activities for new project bids and feasibility studies. The Cost Estimating team provides expertise in services that include estimating cost engineering economic and investment modelling and cost benefit analysis. The team defines analyzes and verifies all input data compiles data within standard cost models according to defined work breakdown structures and ensures that all estimating methods and practices conform to established procedures and recommended practices.
Your Role
- Prepare cost estimates for new project opportunities identified in Request for Proposals (RFPs) change orders and feasibility studies
- Review and assess RFPs contract documents and client agreements to ensure alignment with scope work breakdown structure and terms and conditions
- Work with project teams to prepare feasibility study and budgetary cost estimates for full Engineering Procurement and Construction scopes
- Conduct benchmarking comparisons against historical project costs to validate and challenge estimate inputs
- Prepare contingency estimates payment schedules cash flow curves REC forms and client-specific pricing templates
- Facilitate estimate review sessions and present estimate details to support approvals
- Prepare formal basis of estimate documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure effective transition of cost model data from proposal stage to project budget setup
About You
- Ability to communicate effectively with strong written skills
- Aptitude for mathematical analysis and problem solving
- Proficiency in MS Office tools particularly Microsoft Excel
- Ability to use or learn third-party estimating tools
- Aptitude for understanding cost estimating techniques and AACEI practices
