About the Opportunity
Our client a fast-growing national mortgage brokerage operating in a highly entrepreneurial and agent-focused environment is seeking an experienced highly organized and entrepreneurial Events Manager to lead and help evolve its national events strategy.
This is a hands-on role responsible for owning the full event lifecycle - from strategy and budgeting through logistics vendor management onsite execution attendee experience and post-event reporting.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building refining and scaling event programs within a fast-growing and evolving organization. While the company already hosts a variety of successful events across Canada this role will play a key part in helping shape future event strategy structure and attendee experience as the organization continues to grow nationally.
This role requires periodic travel across Canada for major conferences regional Broker events annual summits and partner engagement initiatives. Many smaller ambassador-led networking events are coordinated collaboratively with local representatives and may not require travel.

The Role
The Events Manager will oversee the planning and execution of a wide variety of company events including:
- National conferences and annual summits
- Regional Broker Talks educational sessions and networking events hosted across major Canadian markets
- Local ambassador-led community and networking events occurring simultaneously across multiple regions
- Training and education sessions
- Executive and VIP gatherings
- Sponsor and lender partnership activations
- Virtual town halls and online engagement events
- Recruitment and culture-focused initiatives
This role currently operates as a highly independent function within the organization requiring someone who is confident managing projects autonomously and comfortable balancing both strategic planning and hands-on execution. As the company and events portfolio continue to grow there is strong potential for this role to help shape and build the future events department over time.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of company events across Canada
- Develop project plans timelines agendas run-of-shows and execution schedules
- Coordinate all event logistics including venues catering accommodation transportation audiovisual requirements signage registration and attendee communications
- Manage onsite setup execution troubleshooting and event breakdown
- Ensure all events align with company branding broker experience culture engagement and business objectives
- Develop contingency plans and proactively resolve issues during live events
- Coordinate multiple events and stakeholder groups simultaneously across different regions and time zones
- Collaborate with internal ambassadors and regional representatives to support local event execution and engagement initiatives
Vendor & Budget Management
- Source negotiate and manage vendors venues hotels caterers AV providers decorators and entertainment partners
- Manage contracts deposits sponsorship deliverables and payment schedules
- Develop and manage event budgets while ensuring cost-effective execution
- Track expenses and prepare post-event reporting and financial summaries
- Assist in refining and evolving sponsorship packages partner experiences and event value propositions year over year
- Coordinate sponsor deliverables activation timelines and partnership commitments across multiple events throughout the year
Stakeholder & Attendee Experience
- Partner cross-functionally with leadership marketing sponsors speakers lenders and external vendors to coordinate successful event execution
- Coordinate speaker schedules presentations travel arrangements and VIP experiences
- Ensure a polished and engaging attendee experience from registration through post-event follow-up
- Support relationship-building initiatives that strengthen company culture and broker engagement
- Build strong relationships with sponsors lenders speakers brokers and internal leadership teams
Communications & Administration
- Coordinate event registration and RSVP management
- Assist with event communications including invitations reminders itineraries and follow-up messaging
- Maintain event calendars planning documents vendor databases and reporting tools
- Track attendance feedback and event performance metrics
- Continuously evaluate event success attendee engagement sponsor value and operational efficiency to improve future event experiences and scalability

Requirements
5 years of experience in event management conference planning hospitality operations community engagement or a related field Experience managing multi-location or national events is considered a strong asset Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects stakeholders and deadlines independently Strong budget management and vendor negotiation experience Exceptional organizational communication and problem-solving abilities with strong stakeholder management skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial and remote-first environment Comfortable building and improving processes within a growing and evolving events function Professional presence and confidence interacting with executives sponsors lenders vendors and external partners Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft 365 virtual meeting platforms event registration systems and project management or collaboration tools Ability and willingness to travel periodically throughout the year for conferences regional events and onsite event coordination Comfortable assisting with onsite event setup teardown signage and materials as required Experience within mortgage real estate franchise association or corporate event environments is considered an asset

Required Skills:
Strong administrative and coordination experience ideally in a financial services mortgage banking or real estate environment High level of attention to detail - comfortable reviewing and verifying client documentation including income assets and down payment sources to ensure files are complete and submission ready Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files at different stages simultaneously Ability to follow structured processes while also knowing when to escalate or ask questions Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required) Proficient with common tools such as Gmail Word spreadsheets and CRM systems Customer-service oriented with a professional and responsive approach Experience in the mortgage or financial industry is an asset but not required full training will be provided.
