Nippon Sanso Australia is now looking for a Workplace Relations Specialist to fill a newly created role due to company growth. The role has been designed to provide hands-on ER/IR expertise across its Group of businesses (Coregas Supagas and Welding businesses). This is a specialist escalation and advisory role youll support HR Generalists and leaders taking ownership of assigned ER cases employment matters providing internal advice and supporting overflow ER/IR matters as demand peaks.

What youll be doing
Under the support and guidance of a highly experienced Head of People in the ER/IR space:
Coordinate resolution to ER matters endtoend processes for performance misconduct investigations grievances complaints disputes disciplinary procedures absences and work capacity.
Provide specialist employment advice: FW Act & other legislation NES Awards Enterprise Agreements and company policies.
Support HR Generalists and leaders with workplace relations coaching high-quality documentation and defensible processes.
Assess and escalate people & employment risks and conduct activities required for dealing with formal ER/IR matters:
Build Workplace Relations learning & capability across Nippon Sanso ANZ business units: coaching training sessions and materials templates toolkits guidance notes and standardisation of best practice approaches.
Identify emerging people risks and trends: recommend practical improvements to lift capability and reduce exposure stay abreast of new and emerging regulatory and market developments provide updates advice and recommendations for workplace relations considerations.
Some travel between Yennora & Liverpool plus infrequent interstate travel to national sites on occasion for matters requiring F2F meetings
What youll bring
3 years experience in employment relations specialist advisory case management and ideally some IR experience or exposure (e.g. union relations enterprise bargaining)
Strong working knowledge of Fair Work Act NES and Modern Awards
Demonstrated capability running complex ER casework with procedural fairness policy alignment risk-assessed approaches and strong legally defensible documentation
Confidence advising leaders in operational fast-paced environments with a pragmatic approach to risk management and investment of resources.
Personal attributes of sound situational judgement calm presence high EI resilience discretion and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial outcomes.
Strong record keeping and skills with effectively tailored written communications for various audiences and contexts.
Demonstrated resourcefulness and skill development/learning from contemporary sources
