We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Work Area Coordinator to join our Allansford cheese manufacturing site. Reporting to the Production Supervisor you will lead the overnight production team ensuring safety quality and production targets are achieved while fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.

About the Role

This role is responsible for coordinating and leading manufacturing operations during the night shift ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety food quality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate production activities to achieve operational and customer targets.
  • Coach support and develop production operators to drive team performance and capability.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
  • Monitor product quality food safety and GMP standards across the production area.
  • Liaise with maintenance quality and operational teams to ensure smooth production outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and escalate concerns when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote standard work practices.
  • Ensure accurate production reporting and system data entry.
  • Support effective shift handovers and provide Production Supervisor relief when required.

About You

You are an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and has a passion for developing people.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience leading teams within manufacturing food processing or a similar production environment.
  • Strong leadership communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach mentor and develop team members.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience using SAP or similar production systems.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety food safety and quality standards.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive positive change.
