The Wardaman Ranger team is looking for motivated Aboriginal people who are proud of their Country and want to be part of a strong team making a real difference.

No previous ranger experience is needed. If you have a good attitude are willing to learn and enjoy working outdoors we encourage you to apply.

About the Role:

As an Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger you will work with other Rangers Traditional Owners and the Northern Land Council to care for Country.

Your work may include:

• Looking after important cultural sites.
• Weed and feral animal control.
• Fire management and burning activities.
• Monitoring plants animals and the environment.
• Looking after equipment and vehicles.
• Recording information about work completed.
• Working with Traditional Owners and community members.
• Travelling across Country and taking part in ranger training.
• Every day is different with plenty of time spent outdoors and on Country.

What you will bring:

We are looking for people who:

• Have a connection to or understanding of Aboriginal culture and community.
• Are interested in caring for land and sea.
• Enjoy working outside and doing practical work.
• Are willing to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
• Can communicate in basic English and follow instructions.
• Live on Katherine or close to the Wardaman Land Trust or surrounding community.
• It is helpful if you have a manual drivers licence or previous ranger experience but these are not essential. Training and support will be provided.

• A base salary of$56954 per annumPro Rata plus15%superannuation paid on Base and District Allowance
• Salary sacrificingup to $15900 Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefit up to $2650 per year.

• • District allowancePro Rata of up to $9926.01 (DA4) per annum for individuals with dependents and $6114.93 (DA3) without dependents.
