As the Nurse Unit Manager within our specialist rehabilitation hospital you will be an integral member of the War Memorial Hospital Executive Team contributing to operational leadership clinical governance workforce development service improvement and strategic decision-making across the closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team you will lead the delivery of safe high-quality person-centred rehabilitation care while fostering a positive team culture and driving innovation quality improvement and operational role is responsible for the leadership and management of the inpatient nursing workforce and plays a key role in optimising patient outcomes patient flow workforce capability clinical governance and service join War Memorial HospitalThis role offers a breadth of leadership experience including opportunities to:Lead a high-performing 35-bed specialist rehabilitation an active member of the Hospital Executive Team and contribute to strategic planning and organisational innovation quality improvement and contemporary models of rehabilitation alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in older persons supported by an experienced senior nursing leadership team including the Clinical Operations Service Manager/Deputy Director of Nursing Clinical Nurse Educator Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Care to hospital-wide initiatives as well as SESLHD and Uniting service is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday with participation in the Executive On Call CriteriaQualifications:Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Minimum five years post-registration clinical experience preferably within rehabilitation acute hospital or aged qualification in health management leadership or a related discipline or demonstrated commitment to working towards Knowledge & experienceProven experience in the operational leadership and management of a clinical nursing service within a complex healthcare environment delivering safe high-quality and person-centred ability to lead develop and manage a high-performing nursing workforce through effective workforce planning recruitment performance management and staff financial and business management capability including resource management service performance monitoring and data-informed experience in clinical governance through the implementation of quality and safety systems that support accreditation and Work Health and Safety developed communication negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build collaborative multidisciplinary relationships manage conflict and lead organisational experience leading change innovation and continuous service improvement within a complex healthcare Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate.
