The Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is seeking a skilledVoice and Telecommunications Officerto ensure critical communications systems are reliable secure and ready to perform under pressure.

In this hands-on technical role youll maintain and support voice and telecommunication infrastructure that underpins emergency response across the Territory. From PABX and voice recording systems to audio and telecommunication services youll play a vital part in keeping our frontline teams connected.

In this technical role you will:

  • Provide expert support for PABX voice recording and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware software and network issues across ESA environments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams vendors and stakeholders to ensure reliable ICT services.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster to support critical emergency communications.

What were looking for:

  • Experience with voice and telecommunication systems including PABX and audio technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver high-quality customer-focused support.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and relevant certifications in electronics or networks (desirable).

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Qualifications or certifications in Electronics and/or Networks in particular voice services would be desirable.
  • A current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • Drivers license class C is essential.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working being a combination of working from home designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT part-time hours job-sharing flexible start and finish times.
