Were seeking an experiencedVocational Support Workerto join our team. This is a hands-on outdoor role ideal for someone with strong grounds maintenance experience and a genuine passion forsupporting people with disabilities to build skills and succeed in the workplace.

Duties:

  • Lead and work alongside a small mowing crew across residential and commercial properties
  • Operate commercial mowing equipment including ride-on mowers whipper snippers hedgers and blowers
  • Ensure jobs are completed safely efficiently and to a high standard
  • Support train and mentor crew members in developing their skills
  • Maintain equipment and ensure all work areas are clean safe and professional
  • Strong work ethic reliability and attention to detail
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Positive patient and supportive leadership style
  • Ensure safe operation of mowing and gardening equipment
  • Plan and complete scheduled mowing and grounds maintenance jobs
  • Complete daily client progress notes and incident reports
  • Carry out other duties as directed

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in lawn mowing landscaping or grounds maintenance
  • Previous experience in the disability sector or a related field
  • Practical experience or knowledge of Work crew operations and yard maintenance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting people with disabilities in a vocational or supported employment setting
  • Experience supervising staff or work crews
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
  • Small engine mechanical knowledge
