Greencross Maitland is looking for an experienced and qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis working a minimum of 20 hours per week with the opportunity to work up to 38 hours per week depending on your availability and clinic needs.
This is a varied role that combines both veterinary nursing and reception responsibilities making it perfect for a nurse who enjoys building relationships with clients while delivering exceptional patient care. The role will also include one Saturday every four weeks as part of a shared roster.

About the Role
As a Veterinary Nurse at Greencross Maitland youll play an integral role in supporting our veterinarians caring for patients and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting veterinarians during consultations diagnostics treatments and procedures
- Surgical preparation and theatre assistance
- Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recovery
- Administering medications and treatments
- Collecting samples and performing pathology testing
- Providing nursing care for hospitalised patients
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Educating and supporting clients regarding their pets health and wellbeing
- Reception duties including appointment scheduling client enquiries admissions discharges and payments
- Supporting the day-to-day operation and workflow of the clinic
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
This is a busy and rewarding role where youll have the opportunity to utilise both your clinical and customer service skills every day.
About You
Were looking for someone who:
- Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent qualification)
- Has 2 years clinical veterinary nursing experience
- Is confident performing both nursing and reception duties
- Has strong animal handling and patient care skills
- Is confident monitoring anaesthesia and supporting surgical procedures
- Has excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Is organised efficient and capable of managing competing priorities
- Enjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Brings a positive attitude strong work ethic and genuine passion for veterinary care
Experience with RxWorks is advantageous but not essential.
