Greencross Vets Glen Eira is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our wonderful team on a part-time basis (2025 hours per week).
Were looking for a competent confident nurse with a solid foundation in all aspects of general practice nursingsomeone who can comfortably step into a busy clinic environment and make an immediate contribution while continuing to learn and grow alongside a passionate team.
Established in 2019 Greencross Glen Eira has become a trusted part of the Ormond community caring for generations of local pets and building strong relationships with our loyal client base.

Our clinic sees primarily dogs and cats with the occasional wildlife triage patient providing a varied and rewarding caseload.

About the Role
This is a part-time position (2025 hours per week) offering variety responsibility and the opportunity to fully utilise your nursing skills.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
Assisting veterinarians during consultations and procedures
Surgical preparation and theatre assistance
Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
Pre- and post-operative patient care
Collecting and processing pathology samples
Administering medications and treatments
Dental procedures and radiography
Monitoring hospitalised patients and providing inpatient care
Emergency and critical care nursing when required
Safe and compassionate animal handling and restraint
Maintaining infection control standards and clinic hygiene
Maintaining medical records and patient notes
Supporting reception and client service duties when required
Communicating treatment plans estimates and post-operative instructions to clients
Assisting with stock control and daily clinic operations
This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys being hands-on and involved in all aspects of veterinary nursing.
About You
Were looking for a nurse who can confidently jump into clinic life and become an integral part of the team.
Youll bring:
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
Strong knowledge across all areas of GP nursing
Confidence with surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and customer service skills
A positive team-focused attitude
Willingness to mentor and support junior nurses when needed
Experience with RxWorks (advantageous but not essential)
Most importantly youre passionate about animal care enjoy working collaboratively and are motivated to continue developing both personally and professionally.
