About the role:

Exciting Opportunity for Data Science Students at Aurizon!

Are you a Data Science student looking to gain valuable work experience and earn while you learn Aurizon is offering an excellent opportunity for you to join our team!

Youll work as a casual employee for an initial period of 3 months within Aurizons Bulk & Containerised Freight business.

Initially a large part of your role will involve helping train a computer vision AI model by verifying data against video. Beyond this the role has potential to leverage other data science skills to support varied work in reporting and visualisation.

This position is for current students only.

About you:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with report creation using Power BI Desktop (essential).
• Awareness of the star schema approach to data modelling with facts and dimensions.
• Experience with any/all of: DAX M (Power Query) SQL or Deneb declarative visualisations.
• Proficiency in other languages such as Vega Python or R or (optional).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently deal with ambiguity and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Interest in broadening experience beyond pure Data Science tasks e.g. the role has potential for involvement in some new systems testing work for an interested candidate.
• Able to commit to 3 days a week.
