Job Summary
OurChildren Youth & Families Team is looking to engage a Transport and ProgramSupport worker who will play an important role in providing safe reliable andculturally respectful transportation for children and families attendingservices at GEGAC.
This rolewill primarily support our Early Years team to create welcoming and positiveexperiences for children and their families ensuring they can access our EarlyYears programs with ease.
They mayalso provide transport and operational support across other divisionsincluding Primary Health where required.

GEGAC is an AboriginalCommunity Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting ofabout 200 staff GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holisticservices in the areas of Primary Health Social Services Elders &Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for theself-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services thatenhance social emotional and spiritual wellbeing with culture at the heartof everything we do.
Position Purpose
TheTransport and Program Support Worker provides safe reliable and culturallysafe transport services to children young people families and communitymembers accessing GEGAC services and programs.
The roleprimarily supports the Children Youth and Families Division including EarlyYears programs and may also provide transport and operational support acrossother GEGAC divisions including Primary Health where required.
Theposition supports service accessibility and community participation throughsafe transport practices positive client engagement and practical operationalsupport activities undertaken in accordance with organisational policieslegislative requirements and program needs.
The roleworks collaboratively with program staff to support safe and effective servicedelivery while maintaining professional boundaries and working under direction.
Qualifications and RegistrationsRequirement (Essential or Desirable).
Valid Victorian drivers licence withappropriate endorsements for transporting passengers ESSENTIAL
Current First Aid and CPR Certifications (orwillingness to obtain) ESSENTIAL
Transport Victoria Accredited driver ESSENTIAL
VicRoads driver history record ESSENTIAL
A satisfactory Working with ChildrenCheck and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islanderbackground DESIRABLE
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGACrequirements ESSENTIAL
