Palladium is contracted by the Australian Governments Department of ForeignAffairs and Trade (DFAT) to deliver the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program(PLMSP) supporting Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste to participate inthe PALM scheme in inclusive safe and sustainable ways.
About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility(PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government thatenables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor-Leste to workin priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program(PLMSP) builds on the successes of the Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) programwith a renewed focus on the provision of tailored support to worker sendingcountries to address their specific needs and priorities. Palladium iscontracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of Department of Foreign Affairs andTrade (DFAT).
About the role
The Training Support Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the PALM Prepare Framework across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Working closely with the Training Support Managers and Engagement Managers (EMs) the role supports the development and implementation of Country Delivery Plans (CDPs) ensuring workers and their families receive high-quality preparation for successful participation in the PALM scheme.
Partnering with Labour Sending Units (LSUs) trainers and in-country stakeholders the Training Support Coordinator helps strengthen training capability coordinate preparation activities and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on labour mobility outcomes while contributing to the success of the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program (PLMSP).
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the PALM Prepare framework to prepare workers and their families for participation in the PALM scheme.
- Support the TSMs in their implementation of PALM Prepare including but not limited to project management support coordination of workshops and other logistical considerations.
- Support updates and adaptations to training modules throughout the PALM journey using feedback and local perspectives to inform improvements.
- Help extend training and development initiatives to better support workers and their families at every stage engaging local actors where possible.
- Work closely with EMs Program Managers (PMs) and other sending country staff to support LSU planning and training needs analyses including coordination of solutions delivered by PLMSP.
- Assist in exploring external options and local actors to meet additional training needs and liaise with stakeholders such as the Pacific Australia Skills government entities and community organisations.
- Maintain positive working relationships with key national and regional delivery partners and other DFAT-funded training programs (e.g. Pacific Australia Skills program).
- Work with the PLMSP Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) team to collect and provide feedback on training effectiveness ensuring local perspectives and community/PALM worker and family needs are included.

About you
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in education training international development project management or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience developing facilitating of training programs ideally in English as a Second Language (ESL) context.
- A solid understanding of the Australian technical and vocational education system.
- Experience working with programs in the Pacific with a strong understanding of GEDSI concepts and issues.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with partner governments civil sector and the private sector.
- Excellent communication presentation and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently manage competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
