Your part in our UnitingCare team

The Training Assistant supports the delivery of UnitingCares Project Search Transition-to-Work Program byassistingwith the implementation of classroom and workplace-basedlearning activities.

  • Assistwith the organisation and smooth running of daily program activities including preparation of materials coordination of activities and supporting transitions between classroom and workplace environments.

  • Under the direction of the Job Coach assist with supporting intern participation across defined program phases including classroom learning internship rotations work experience placementsexternshipsand the job search.

  • Assistwith the implementation of established strategies developed by Job Coaches including task breakdowns prompts visualsupportsand reinforcement of learning.

  • Under the guidance of the Job Coach and following established support strategies provide individual and small group support to interns toassistwith participation engagement and understanding of learning activities adjusting communication style and level of support to meet individual needs.

  • Assist Job Coaches to support interns during the job search phase including interview practice application preparation attending employer visits where and reinforcing job search routinesconfidenceand work readiness.

  • Assistwith general administrative and program support tasks including preparation of resources and basic record keeping.

  • Contribute to a positive team culture and a safe work environment being mindfulrespectfuland kind.

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

  • Demonstrated interest in supporting people with disability in learning or employment environments

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals
