Your role

Join a skilled agile and multidisciplinary team working to strengthen community awareness and understanding of violent extremism and the support available to individuals families and communities.

As the Training and Capability Analyst you will develop coordinate and evaluate training and capability programs that support the promotion of the Step Together Helpline and the Engagement and Support Program. The role sits within the Countering Violent Extremism Engagement and Support Unit in the Interventions and Innovation Branch.

You will create practical engaging and evidence-based learning content for a range of audiences including members of the public community organisations partner agencies stakeholders and frontline industry workers. Your work will help people understand concepts relating to violent extremism disengagement and the support services available.

What youll do

In this role you will:

  • develop deliver and evaluate training and capability uplift solutions that achieve identified learning outcomes
  • undertake training and capability needs analysis and identify opportunities to improve programs services and staff capability
  • develop e-learning multimodal content and resources tailored to different audiences and cohorts
  • prepare and maintain resources such as facilitator guides user guides courselettes learning activities assessments instructional videos and frequently asked questions
  • work collaboratively with partner agencies stakeholders community organisations and other areas of DCJ
  • provide advice coaching and individual training support where required
  • monitor learning materials and training delivery to ensure content remains current relevant and aligned with applicable standards
  • contribute to change strategies and continual improvement initiatives across Interventions and Innovation
  • report on training and capability activities to support business planning
  • ensure confidentiality ethical practice privacy social justice and work health and safety requirements are maintained in the delivery of training and development activities

ESU is a skilled and highly agile multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy engaging in ongoing professional development within an emerging space actively contributing to the continued development of the training analyst role and communications approach within the Engagement and Support Unit.

What were looking for

In addition to the essential requirements outlined in the role description we are looking for a motivated education or training professional with demonstrated experience developing and delivering effective learning content and resources.

You will be an analytical and curious communicator who can translate complex or sensitive information into clear engaging and evidence-based material. You will understand how to tailor learning approaches and content for diverse audiences including community members government agencies and frontline workers.

You will also bring:

  • strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • experience creating and managing multimodal learning content
  • the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities and short lead times
  • a proactive practical and solutions-focused approach
  • sound judgement when working with sensitive subject matter
  • a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
  • the ability to collaborate effectively across teams organisations and sectors.

The role operates with a level of autonomy in setting priorities developing approaches and providing evidence-based advice and recommendations. Sensitive high-risk or business-critical matters are escalated to the manager or senior staff as appropriate.
