Our Delivery North EaTS team is currently seeking to appoint four Threatened Species Officersto assist in the effective and efficient delivery of regional threatened species programs.

The role supports delivery of regional threatened species programs by coordinating activities aligned with government priorities and implementing conservation initiatives such as Saving Our Species. It involves improving program effectiveness engaging stakeholders and communities contributing to environmental impact and licensing assessments and providing advice on legislative and policy requirements to protect threatened species and habitats.

About You

In this role you will play a key part in delivering regional threatened species conservation programs aligned with government strategies and priorities. You will contribute to the design and implementation of initiatives such as the Saving Our Species program while continuously reviewing and improving conservation processes tools and policies to ensure they remain effective and responsive to evolving priorities.

The role also involves working closely with communities stakeholders and partners to drive education collaboration and recovery actions for threatened species. You will support the assessment of environmental impacts and development proposals to safeguard species and habitats and provide expert advice on legislative and corporate requirements to both internal teams and external clients.

This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful conservation projects within a collaborative purpose-driven team engaging with a diverse portfolio of stakeholders across government industry and the community.

Essential Requirements

• A degree in Science or in a relevant natural resource discipline
• A valid Australian drivers licence with four-wheel drive experience and training preferable
• Willingness to travel in a light aircraft
