At Thiess we invest in future talent and provide vacation students with exposure to a world of experience and expertise. Our Summer Vacation Programoffers you the opportunity to gain real life experience on an operational open cut coal mine as part of our structured 12-week paid program. You will gain valuable experience working on site and for some roles experience living in remote and regional locations. Build your networks and relationships early in your career by working with experienced industry leaders.

The 2026 Thiess Vacation Program has opportunities in the following disciplines for 2^nd and 3^rd year students:

• Mining Engineering
• Surveying
• Geology/Geotechnical
• Environment
• Mechatronic Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Health & Safety
• Human Resources
• ICT
• Finance

Weareofferingopportunities acrossourQLD NSW and WA projects however; this isan indicationonly and positions and locations are subject to change.

About You

• Completing 2ndor 3rdyear at university

• Studying a degree within one of the above disciplines

• Willing to work andrelocateto site for the duration of the program

• Available to work for the entire 12-week period

• Ready to start your career in the mining industry

• A holder of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination
