Nepean Private Hospital is seeking a Theatre Clerk to join our theatre team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience during their care.

About us

Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics spinal gynaecology ENT plastics urology and general surgery endoscopy cardiology cardiac angiography and obstetrics.

Nepean Private Hospital has ten operating Theatres one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

Nepean Private Hospital has established an excellent reputation in the community for its high commitment to customer service staff satisfaction and quality improvement.

As a Theatre Clerk your responsibilities will include:

Greet all customerswith care and compassion so that patients and families feel comfortableduring theirhospital stay

Work collaboratively with nursing staff and Perioperative Services Manager

Preparation of patient files appointment lists and coordination with other ward clerks to obtain ward patient files

Medical record filing

Providing clerical support to the clinical team

Liaison with allied health wards persons and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers

Essential Criteria:

Previous experience in a medical environment

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Well organised able to prioritise plan ahead and work under pressure

Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word Excel & Outlook)

Ability to work autonomously in a self-directive environment

Desirable criteria:

Experience with medical terminology

Experience with Webpass Medical System

Experience in ward environment
