Technical Officer (Dental)

• Full-Time Fixed-Term position until December 2026

• Salary Level HEW 5 17% Superannuation

• Based at the Melbourne CBD campus

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Officer (Dental) to support our teaching and learning this role you will maintain and demonstrate the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments while providing hands-on technical support to both staff and students.

You will be responsible for ensuring that laboratory and associated facilities are well maintained with a strong commitment to upholding occupational health and safety standards. Additionally you will bring your expertise in producing materials casts and moulds to assist in the manufacture of a broad range of dental technology components.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your technical knowledge in a dynamic education-focused setting.

To be successful in this position you will have:

• Experience in providing technical support to Dental teaching areas

• Demonstrated ability to manage teaching and work laboratories

• Demonstrated high level of practical involvement in the implementation and testing of equipment and instruments and development of techniques and procedures within an educational environment including CAD/CAM operations and 3D Printing

• Excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills and an ability to take responsibility and initiative

• Be able to perform tasks that require proficiency in workplace rules regulations process and techniques

• Demonstrate a proven ability to prioritise tasks meet deadlines work autonomously and manage complex work while operating independently and efficiently with minimal supervision

• Commitment to providing a high standard of customer service and to working cooperatively and productively as a team member to achieve organisational objectives

Qualifications:

• Completed or demonstrated a relevant skill set in dental technology including practical experience and technical competence as a dental technician. (TAFE Certificate and or higher)

• Demonstrate management skills ability to work as part of a team and ability to relate to apprentices/trainees
