The Opportunity
The role of the Technical Director is to provide high end technical and event expertise and to be a resource for the entire event production process from the event inception through to the final delivery. The role is also responsible for the effective supervision of crew in the delivery installation operation and removal of audio visual equipment required to operate shows of any size and addition the TD is responsible for technical consultation and advice to the business.
As a senior lighting specialist you will provide leadership coordination and hands-on delivery across the installation programming operation and removal of lighting and event technology systems for premium corporate events.
Responsibilities
- Determines event specifications can create event design based on customer requirements and ensures cost estimates stay within budget parameters.
- Develops and maintains event schedule within specifications estimating labour equipment and transport requirements.
- Ensures appropriate costs are recharged to specific jobs including production double time site surveys crew overruns.
- Provide in-bound sales team with cost estimates and check out-bound estimates on daily basis in areas of specification equipment availability & suitability.
- The Technical Director is responsible for the operational success of the show and subsequently the performance of the crew rostered for a particular job.
- Conduct site surveys as required in consultation with the internal stakeholders.
- Act as a role model for crew members and has the ability to effectively lead crew.
- Operate and program lighting consoles including GrandMA MA2/MA3 and other professional lighting platforms
- Advanced systems patching and signal distribution for lighting networks(MA-Net sACN ArtNet W-DMX)
- Advanced knowledge of static and moving fixtures
- Thorough understanding in power distribution
- Prepare and maintain show documentation
