About the role
The Digital Division is accountable to operate maintain and deliver digital capabilities for all of AEMO to ensure AEMO fulfills its obligations across all our jurisdictions and markets. This includes strategic technology foresight and plans delivery of digital change operation of critical infrastructure key internal stakeholder engagement as well as operation of all of AEMOs IT applications and services.
Your role will be to translate stakeholders requirements into work that can be delivered according to scope budget and time using agile methodologies. by providing functional and non-functional analysis translated into technical specifications to facilitate the delivery of products and business outcomes. You will be dedicated to a particular Product Domain team and will be the specialist key SME for that Domain. You will assist in the uplift of skills and abilities of Product Domain teams. Your primary focus will be defining and managing the backlog for the domain team with the Product Domain Owner.
This is 12-month fixed-term role ideally based in Perth. Other locations will be considered.
What you will be doing
- Lead functional and non-functional analysis using Agile methodologies ensuring backlog items acceptance criteria and delivery outcomes are clearly defined and managed.
- Gather analyse and document business requirements including data and process mapping to support development team in design and delivery.
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear technical specifications and delivery-ready work items for Agile development teams.
- Partner with Product Domain owner and stakeholders to support planning prioritisation and strategic delivery objectives.
- Ensure project and technical documentation meet AEMO standards and contributes to continuous improvement within the domain.
What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within technology delivery teams.
- Strong requirements analysis process modelling and technical documentation capabilities.
- Solid understanding of Agile ways of working including Scrum and backlog management.
- Strong knowledge of Atlassian tools particularly Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge or keenest to learn the energy sector and its regulatory environment will be highly regarded.
