ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Infrastructure team focuses on managing the daily presentation of the public domain within the Cumberland City Area ensuring that it is maintained and presented so that residents and visitors are proud of the area and it meets their expectations.

In contributing to the overarching vision the Team Leader will be responsible to lead a small team in undertaking various forms of maintenance works. The Team Leader will ensure teams who report directly to them are working efficiently and effectively meeting both Councils and communities expectations through a works program that utilises the industries best practice.

The successful applicant will require:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in Concrete Drainage and Asphalt works
  • Experience in Asphalt or concreting
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement
  • Current Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence
  • Current Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementer card (also known as Traffic Control Combo course)
  • Current General induction for Construction Work in NSW (White card)

About this role:

  • Permanent full-time position
  • 70 hour fortnight
  • Access to Councils 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
  • Located at Councils Auburn and Guildford Depots with frequent travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 7 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1295.25 to $1586.68 per week plus 12% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role

What youll need to have for this role:

  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Councils Health Monitoring Procedure as required.
