Our Water for the Environment team is seeking to appoint a Team Leader Advisory Group Engagement to lead a team supporting Environmental Water Advisory Groups (EWAGs) and the Snowy Advisory Committee. This role helps ensure community stakeholder and First Nations perspectives are represented in environmental water planning and delivery across NSW and supports meaningful participation in environmental water decision-making.

As Team Leader you will provide leadership and direction to a high-performing team delivering advisory group operations across NSW. This includes overseeing governance and secretariat services stakeholder engagement communications member recruitment appointment and induction processes and records management. You will work closely with advisory group members communities First Nations representatives and internal stakeholders to support participation and the effective integration of advice into environmental water planning and delivery.

You will lead the coordination of meeting processes communications and engagement activities support advisory group governance and ensure compliance with relevant legislative policy and record-keeping requirements.

You will prepare advice briefings and communication materials on issues affecting environmental water management while identifying opportunities to strengthen advisory group operations and enhance member engagement across NSW.

About You

You are an experienced people leader with strong program or project management experience and a demonstrated ability to lead and support governance processes stakeholder engagement and collaborative decision making.

You are comfortable working in complex environments and can build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders who may have differing priorities and perspectives. You can communicate complex information clearly facilitate constructive discussions and help translate feedback into practical outcomes.

You bring strong organisational skills sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a focus on high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience in a senior program or project management role supporting governance arrangements working groups advisory groups and/or committees to achieve program or project outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with experience working across community First Nations government and partner organisations.
• Experience leading governance communications stakeholder engagement activities meeting processes and advisory group operations.
• Experience supporting advisory group member recruitment appointment and induction processes including the establishment of new groups and onboarding of members.
• Demonstrated knowledge of government and public administration processes protocols and issues management.
• Proven leadership capability with experience supporting and developing staff in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare briefings reports and communication materials for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse interpret and communicate complex advice and stakeholder feedback and use it to inform planning decision-making and program delivery.

Desirable

• Knowledge of environmental water management natural resource management or the policy and legislative frameworks that support environmental water planning and delivery outcomes.

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications in a relevant discipline such ascommunications project managementenvironmental science natural resource management and/or equivalent experience.
