Job Summary

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Team Lead Pre Contracts Engineering based in Melbourne. Youll lead the technical development engineering evaluation and pre-contracts activities for Aggrekos IPP Solutions portfolio across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

What youll do as Team Lead Pre Contracts Engineering:

  • Provide leadership to the pre-contracts engineering function and be accountable for developing technically robust commercially competitive and deliverable solutions for renewable energy Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) thermal generation hybrid energy and grid-connected power projects.

  • Opportunity assessment project development bid support technical due diligence cost estimation risk management and customer engagement.

  • Work closely with Business Development Commercial Legal Engineering Project Delivery Operations and Asset Management teams the Team Lead ensures opportunities are effectively evaluated risks are understood and proposals are aligned with Aggrekos technical financial and strategic objectives.

  • Act as technical lead throughout the pursuit phase establishing solution strategies managing technical inputs leading customer-facing engineering discussions and supporting project negotiations through to contract award and handover.

  • Provide engineering guidance throughout development project commissioning and operations.

  • Lead development of microgrid and grid connection strategies for prospective projects.

  • Review network requirements compliance obligations and technical constraints.

  • Manage power system consultants and specialist studies.

  • Support engagement with AEMO TNSPs DNSPs NSPs consultants and regulatory stakeholders.

  • Provide technical oversight of Generator Performance Standards (GPS) development and compliance strategies.

  • Assess project risks associated with system strength network access grid compliance and network performance requirements.

You are / have:

  • A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering ideally holding a CPEng and/or post graduate qualification.

  • Demonstrated leadership of complex bid pursuits.

  • Minimum of approx. 10 years experience in power generation renewable energy utilities transmission or major infrastructure projects.

  • Extensive experience with renewable energy and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

  • Ideally also have experience across solar PV thermal generation wind and hybrid power systems.

  • Significant experience in project development pre-contracts bid management owners engineering EPC IPP or developer environments.

  • Strong understanding of grid connection modelling

  • Technical understanding of grid connection processes power systems and electrical infrastructure

  • Experience developing project cost estimates technical proposals and investment-grade project concepts.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project finance drivers.
