Based at Kambarang Place an eight-bed crisis accommodation service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women this rewarding Team Leader role combines leadership crisis accommodation and trauma-informed practice to support women to achieve safety stability and positive change. Kambarang Place provides crisis accommodation and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women aged 18 years and over who are escaping family and domestic violence. The service offers crisis accommodation case management EST and AOD counselling supporting women to achieve safety healing and longer-term stability.

As Team Lead you will provide leadership and operational oversight of the service ensuring women receive high-quality culturally safe and trauma-informed support. You will lead a dedicated team build strong stakeholder relationships and drive positive outcomes for women while fostering a culture aligned with Ruahs values.

This is a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm.

• Lead coach and support a high-performing team delivering crisis accommodation and family and domestic violence services
• Provide day-to-day operational leadership to ensure safe high-quality and client-centred service delivery
• Lead the delivery of services at Kambarang Place including crisis accommodation case management and coordinated support
• Promote culturally safe trauma-informed and strengths-based practice across the service
• Support women experiencing family and domestic violence to achieve safety stability and positive life outcomes
• Manage service delivery risk incidents and complex client situations in line with organisational policies and procedures
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities government agencies and community service providers
• Monitor service quality outcomes and compliance requirements ensuring accurate documentation and reporting
• Foster a positive team culture aligned with Ruahs values supporting staff wellbeing development and performance
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to service innovation and best practice

The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

• Female applicant as permitted under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) due to the nature of the service and the needs of the women supported by Kambarang Place
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women escaping family and domestic violence
• Demonstrated leadership experience including supervision coaching and staff development
• Experience working in a crisis accommodation or residential service setting
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice
• Experience managing complex client situations and risk
• Highly developed communication interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong case management and service delivery knowledge
• Commitment to Ruahs values and vision for social change

The following are considered desirable:

• Qualification in Community Services Social Work Psychology or a related discipline
• Experience working within family and domestic violence services
• Knowledge of Aboriginal community-controlled and mainstream support services
• Experience working with alcohol and other drug housing or homelessness services

• A starting salary of $105916 plus superannuation aligned with Level 5 of the Ruah Enterprise Agreement and the SCHADS Award
