Due to ongoing growth and development we are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Switchboard Foreman to join our growing switchboard manufacturing business unit supporting the delivery of switchboards and MCCs for LV electrical infrastructure projects.
As a key leader within our switchboard manufacturing team you will supervise workshop activities coordinate trades support the electrical design team and switchboard specialists and help drive quality outcomes from design through to testing delivery and handover.
Duties and responsibilities:
Manufacture electrical switchboards and motor control centres (Cubic experience highly desirable) in accordance with project design documentation.
Read and interpret control schematics with the ability to fault find.
Perform quality checks and functional testing of completed boards.
Facilitate client Factory Acceptance Testing and complete testing and handover documentation.
Work closely with design engineers and switchboard specialists to ensure scheduling and on-time delivery.
Occasional site installation activities including commissioning.
Foreman responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day workshop activities for switchboard and motor control centre manufacturing.
Lead mentor and support electricians apprentices and trades assistants to maintain safe efficient and high-quality work practices.
Allocate tasks monitor progress and assist with planning to ensure project schedules and delivery milestones are achieved.
Review drawings schematics and project documentation to confirm work is completed in accordance with specifications and standards.
Oversee quality checks functional testing defect rectification and preparation for Factory Acceptance Testing.
Maintain clear communication with project managers design engineers clients and internal stakeholders regarding progress issues and priorities.
Promote compliance with safety requirements company procedures and relevant electrical standards at all times.
Support material coordination resource planning and workshop housekeeping to ensure production efficiency.
To be successful in the position the following attributes are essential:
QLD Electrical Licence and White Card.
Current LVR/CPR certificate.
Proven experience in switchboard and motor control centre manufacturing with Cubic experience highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience leading or supervising electricians apprentices and trades assistants in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
Ability to allocate tasks coordinate priorities monitor progress and support delivery against project schedules.
Strong skills in wiring terminations fault finding and interpreting electrical drawings and control schematics.
Commitment to quality workmanship safe work practices and continuous improvement within the workshop.
Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor team members and liaise effectively with project managers engineers clients and internal stakeholders.
Organised team-oriented approach with the ability to support production coordination materials planning and workshop efficiency.
