Position: Disability Support Worker
Location: Andrews Farm
Employment Type: Casual and Permanent Part Time
The Opportunity:
- Come and join our team! We are seeking Disability Support Workerlocated inAndrews Farm
Each day may look a little different but your work will be centered around the following:
- Providing support in everyday daily activities around the home
- Providing support with hygiene and personal care
- Complex care support - Hoist Bowel care catheter management ( Supra pubic catheter) Enema Medication and Manual handling
- Assistance support and chaperoning activities outside the home environment
- Assisting with medication compliance which may include the dispensation of prescription medication
- Meal assistance which may include meal preparation
Who were looking for
- A person-centered warm approach with a compassionate and non-judgmental disposition
- Interest or experience in complex care bariatric care disability and health nuances.
- Great communicator: listens well reads cues and adapts to different styles.
- Reliable and professional with good notetaking and teamwork.
- Flexible and adaptable; comfortable with changing needs and shifts.
Essential requirements
- Strong knowledge of manual handling WHS and risk management
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support Disability or equivalent preferred
- NDIS Clearance First Aid (3 yrs) CPR (12 months) & National police clearance - or willingness to obtain
- At least one year experience as a Disability Support Worker
- Mental Health Work experience preferred
- Pre-employment medical check
- Drivers License reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance
