About this Opportunity

The Towong Surge Team Lead with Wellways Australia is a unique opportunity to lead a newly established bushfire response team delivering Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services across the Towong Shire. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced leader who thrives in building community-led inclusive and values-driven mental health services that create lasting impact for individuals carers and families.

As the lead for the Towong surge response you will shape and deliver responsive mental health and wellbeing interventions while working closely with the broader Border Wimmera and Mallee Mental Health and Wellbeing Local network to ensure seamless support across the region. This is your opportunity to play a key role in transforming mental health care in Victoria and help create a future where every member of the Towong community feels supported connected and included.

You will need:

  • Diploma or Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (mental health/AOD)
  • Experience working in mental health and/or AOD sector (minimum 3 years)
  • Experience in a Team/Senior Leader or Management role
  • Demonstrated time management abilities excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate a friendly proactive approach and work with competing needs deadlines and balance priorities with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

You will also need:

  • Current valid Drivers License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check (valid within the last 12 months)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
