Project Info

ACCIONA leads the Alkimos Seawater Alliance delivering a new desalination plant north of Perth as part of a $2.8 billion program of works. Stage 1 will supply 150 million litres of drinking water daily addressing declining rainfall and population growth. The project includes ocean intake and outfall pipelines and a 33.5km supply pipeline to Wanneroo targeting completion in 2028.

About Opportunity


As Mechanical Supervisor you will oversee the mechanical construction works for this landmark desalination project reporting to the Project Manager. You will coordinate mechanical crews manage work fronts and ensure piping pumps and rotating equipment installations meet ACCIONAs safety and quality standards. Working closely with engineers subcontractors and other discipline supervisors you will sequence work resolve site issues and support the project through to commissioning.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

  • Plan and allocate daily work fronts for mechanical crews
  • Coordinate labour plant and materials across the site
  • Review drawings method statements and work packs
  • Monitor progress against schedule and resolve site issues
  • Enforce safety procedures permits and isolations
  • Inspect completed works and manage punch items
  • Report progress risks and resource needs to the Project Manager

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Certificate III/IV in Mechanical Engineering Fitting or Fabrication
  • High Risk Work Licence (dogging rigging or forklift)
  • Working at Heights Confined Space and Gas Test tickets
  • White Card and proven experience leading mechanical crews
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs ITPs and work packs
  • Ability to complete Pre-Employment Medical and National Crime Check
