Job Summary

Amazon Delivery Services is seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Specialist to lead sourcing projects within the 3PL Warehousing (External Fulfilment) category across Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for running end-to-end competitive sourcing processes for third-party warehousing and external fulfilment supplier selection including RFI RFP RFQ bid evaluation supplier scoring and award recommendation as well as tactical elements such as leading commercial negotiations building cost models and business cases and collaborating with internal stakeholders (including legal finance operations external fulfilment and supply chain teams) to drive contracts to execution.

The Strategic Procurement Specialist will need to understand the impact of contract terms compliance obligations and commercial risk and be able to explain agreement terms to stakeholders whilst identifying ways to meet the businesss needs. The successful candidate will lead the effort to resolve supplier questions and concerns throughout negotiations and will partner with internal stakeholders on specific areas of exposure.

The Strategic Procurement Specialist is an expert practitioner in creating competitive environments and have a strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics. They land quickly in ambiguous settings run structured processes independently and produce commercially credible outputs from day one to advise senior Amazon leaders on the direction of sourcing projects.

Key job responsibilities
Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing run full RFI/RFP/RFQ processes for 3PL warehousing and external fulfilment from scoping through to award recommendation.

Own sourcing project delivery develop and manage project plans timelines and stakeholder workstreams to hit defined milestones.

Build supplier shortlists and due diligence assess supplier capability and run due diligence frameworks appropriate to the Australian 3PL market.

Conduct commercial modelling and analysis perform landed cost analysis scenario comparisons and cost models to underpin sourcing decisions and business cases.

Lead commercial negotiations negotiate rate structures MSAs KPI frameworks and key Amazon provisions with 3PL providers.

Develop negotiation strategies aligned to category objectives market benchmarks and internal risk appetite.

Drive contracts to execution with Legal manage redlines escalation points and approval processes within project timelines flagging commercial risk before signing.

Manage supplier and stakeholder engagement run briefings Q&A site visits and negotiation sessions; partner with Operations Finance and Legal to align requirements and secure approvals.

Support onboarding of awarded 3PL partners contract mobilisation KPI baseline setting and integration into governance frameworks.

Maintain sourcing governance and documentation keep rigorous RFx packs evaluation matrices and award records; ensure compliance with Australian regulatory and responsible sourcing obligations.

A day in the life
A Day in the Life
As Strategic Procurement Specialist for 3PL Warehousing no two days look the same. Youll typically run two sourcing projects in parallel each at a different stage thanks to staggered starts while simultaneously managing live conversations with existing suppliers and progressing multiple contract amendments and lifecycle activities across the category. A morning might begin on your earlier-stage project: refining scope with Operations building cost models and shaping the RFx pack. By afternoon youre at the negotiation table on the later-stage project working through rate structures MSAs and KPI frameworks with 3PL providers and driving redlines toward execution with Legal. Woven through the day are supplier check-ins rate reviews and amendments to in-flight contracts keeping existing agreements current while new ones take shape.

You are the person who turns operational capacity requirements into competitive commercially watertight agreements creating supplier tension negotiating from data and closing complex multi-party deals at pace without cutting governance corners. Youll balance this new-business focus with the discipline of ongoing contract lifecycle management: tracking obligations processing amendments and addendums and maintaining strong commercial relationships with your existing supplier between youll align closely with Operations and External Fulfilment (your primary customers) Finance for cost and business-case sign-off and Security & Compliance for supplier due diligence. The problems you solve are real and immediate: securing fulfilment capacity ahead of demand protecting Amazon commercially and contractually and advising senior leaders on sourcing direction. Running staggered projects alongside a live contract portfolio gives you a genuine category-wide view where market intelligence from one deal sharpens your leverage on the next.

- Experience in procurement supply chain inventory management contract management lease administration or operations
- Bachelors degree in supply chain business engineering finance or related technical or quantitative field or 3 years of industry work experience
- Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations global contract management process improvement operational and financial analysis
- Knowledge of analytical reporting tools (ie Excel Tableau)
- Can use AI for legal research contract analysis or document review experience
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
- Were looking for a seasoned procurement professional who can lead sourcing independently and land quickly in an ambiguous fast-moving environment. Youll bring:
- Preferred: CSCP CIPS or equivalent certification; e-commerce or high-volume logistics experience; familiarity with the Australian 3PL market; and exposure to TAPA HACCP or equivalent accreditation requirements.

- Experience that includes strong analytical skills attention to detail and effective communication abilities or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Experience working in a large team or fast-paced corporate environment
- Law degree
- Able to write SQL scripts for analysis and reporting (SQL MySQL)
- Proven experience of working in a fast-paced highly complex analytical environment preferably in Supply Chain e-Commerce Consulting or Finance
