The Opportunity
KBR is seeking an experienced Strategic Business Advisor to support Defence clients by delivering high-quality strategic business advice executive communications and analytical services.
Working closely with senior stakeholders project teams and technical specialists you will develop clear accurate and compelling documentation that supports informed decision-making across complex Defence programs. You will transform technical and strategic information into executive-level communications business cases briefs presentations and reports that align with Australian Government standards and client requirements.
This role can be based in either Melbourne or Canberra providing flexibility for the right candidate to join the KBR team.
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with Defence stakeholders project managers and subject matter experts to gather requirements and develop high-quality strategic documentation.
- Conducting research and analysis to support the preparation of executive briefs business cases reports Cabinet-style submissions and other strategic documents.
- Translating complex technical operational and business information into concise persuasive and audience-appropriate content.
- Developing executive presentations briefing packs infographics and communication materials to support leadership decision-making.
- Coordinating the collection review and validation of information from multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation.
- Supporting the development of strategic messaging and communication products for a variety of Defence audiences.
- Monitoring emerging issues industry developments and relevant media to identify potential impacts and provide informed recommendations to decision-makers.
- Providing strategic analysis and advice to support business planning program delivery and executive decision-making.
- Maintaining high standards of quality consistency and compliance across all written deliverables.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience preparing executive-level documentation strategic reports business cases briefing papers or government submissions.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information into clear concise and persuasive content.
- Strong research analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and coordinating contributions from multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience supporting Defence or Australian Government clients.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth writing standards and executive documentation requirements.
- Experience developing business cases ministerial briefs Cabinet-style submissions or strategic communications.
- Familiarity with Defence governance procurement or major capability programs.
- Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.
