We have an opportunity for a Stakeholder Engagement & Policy Manager (Aged Care) to join us on a full-time basis in an ongoing capacity subject to funding (currently funded until mid-2028). The role may belocatedanywhere in Australia and will involve travel with overnight stays for organisation meetings stakeholder meetings workshops and industry events.

About the position

This exciting role is a key position responsible for leading the developmentmanagementand delivery of strategic engagement to support the delivery ofHumanAbilitysstrategic and operational plans. As a Stakeholder Engagement and Policy Manager atHumanAbility you will play a vital role in fostering meaningful connections and collaboration within the health care and socialassistanceindustry. Your work will focus on a specific portfolio (Aged Care) but you will have an ability to understand cross-sectoral issues and lead informed discussions with stakeholders from across a range of sectors and organisations. You willbe responsible forstrategic engagement policy development and knowledge sharing and industry/sector stewardship. You will work with members of allHumanAbilityteams to maximise the impact and influence of our work.

Key Accountabilities

This role will:

  • Stakeholder engagement:Develop and implement strategic engagement plans across variousHumanAbilityprojects and in line with operational and strategicobjectives. Foster andmaintainpartnerships with stakeholders toidentifystrategic partnership opportunities and shared skillstrainingand workforce issues. Serve as the primary point of contact for specific groups of stakeholders includingHumanAbilityCommittee members. Maintain contemporary networks including organising and coordinating activities toensure a proactive approach to engagement across the designated portfolio.
  • Engagement activity and facilitation:Facilitateforums workshops and meetings aimed at gathering data and industry insights from -person attendance and facilitation at external and internal events isrequired utilisingexpertiseto manage a variety of viewpoints.
  • Industry insight and policy development:Maintaina deep understanding of the industries landscape trends challenges and opportunities ensuring that engagement effortsremainrelevant and impactful. Build stakeholder rapport to understand perspectives and policy priorities and share insights and policy knowledge with and across stakeholders and internal teams. Demonstrate and continually develop sectorexpertiseto inform policy development respond to reforms and government directives and support successful outcomes for stakeholders andHumanAbility. Advise on consultation strategies and provide industry intelligence to guide research strategic workforce developmentandtrainingproduct development projects to ensure stakeholders are actively engaged and driving our project work.
  • Strategic communications:Apply strong written and verbal communication skills to assist colleagues in the writing and contribution to the broad work ofHumanAbility(e.g. engagement strategies mapping and plans papers for key Committees email and phone correspondence with stakeholders qualitative research and notetaking for Workforce Planning preparation of consultation questions input to submissions).Apply strong analytical skills to synthesise industry insight policytrendsand other key information for a variety of purposes including workshop design briefing notes speeches and presentations. Collaborate with colleagues to inform andassistin implementing effective communications strategies that resonate with stakeholders in a relevanteffectiveandtimelymanner.
  • Project and Process Management: Assist in the development and implementation of structured processes for engagement activity ensuring fairness inclusivity governance and adherence toestablishedguidelines. Apply strong time and project management skills to deliver consistently meaningfullyorganisedand coordinated engagement activity acrossHumanAbilitysprojects and broad work and core engagement responsibilities. Ensure stakeholder engagement activities are captured in the stakeholder relationship management system (SRM) and support continuous improvement of the SRM ensuring the system meets business needs and captures key stakeholdersectorand policy information. Provide advice on stakeholder engagement tools to captureanalyseanddisseminateinsights.
  • Other:Observeand follow work healthsafetyand wellbeing policies and guidelines. Observe and followHumanAbilitypolicies and guidelines. Observe and follow relevant Department of Employment and Workplace Relations frameworks and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Attainment of a relevant accredited VET qualification tertiary degree or minimum 5 years work experience in a relevant role and sector isrequired.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent time and project management.
  • High level IT skills in a range of software associated with content management stakeholder relationship management systems and project management tools along with the Microsoft Office suite.

There may be times when it is required to work outsidenormal business hours i.e. evenings and weekends to meet operational and/orstakeholder requirements. The role requires interstate travel from time to time.

We operate a hybrid working model. While flexibility issupported the balance of office-based work in-person attendance at meetingsevents and remote work will vary depending on role location and organisationand operational needs.

All appointees must be willing to obtain a police check andWorking with Children Check. Appointeesmust have full working rights within Australia.
