Your Opportunity

Every day across Mission Australia Housing frontline teams are supporting people to find stability safety and a place to call home. Behind this impact sits a strong foundation of capability systems and practical know-how that enables staff to deliver consistent high-quality services.

The Staff Practice & Systems Trainer plays a vital role in strengthening this foundation bridging together operational business process systems policies and learning that translates into effective day-to-day practice. Working within Housing Operations this role delivers hands-on training supports onboarding reinforces learning through real work scenarios and coaching and drives continuous capability uplift through frontline feedback and practical improvement loops. The role also develops practical learning materials in a range of formats including short videos presentations quick reference guides learning needs and help staff apply learning in the flow of work.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Deliver onboarding programs system training and practice-based learning aligned to operational workflows
  • Facilitate workshops demonstrations and practical learning sessions across housing systems and processes
  • Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to embed learning into day-to-day operational practice
  • Support staff in troubleshooting system and process challenges and reinforce correct usage
  • Develop and maintain practical learning resources in a range of formats including quick reference guides short videos presentation job aids and system linked learning supports
  • Support onboarding pathways for new starters including walkthroughs observations and capability development activities
  • Identify capability gaps through frontline engagement feedback and operational insights
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by using frontline feedback service support insights and system changes to update learning materials workflows and practice supports
  • Partner with operational leaders to support adoption reinforcement and embedding of new systems processes and practice changes across regions
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across teams to promote a consistent practical and human-centered learning approach

Requirements for Success

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or qualifications in Learning and Development Business Systems Training Education Community Services or similar or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering systems and process training in complex operational environments
  • Experience in onboarding capability uplift or learning delivery roles
  • Exposure to social or community housing or similar sectors highly desirable
  • Ability to translate business processes and system steps into clear practical learning experiences
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills particularly in system and workflow contexts
  • Confidence working with operational systems and supporting frontline teams
  • Excellent facilitation communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment

Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
