Youve seen first-hand the impact that engaging social content can have. Were looking for a creative energetic storyteller to own ACLs end-to-end social media process driven by a servant heart and a passion for storytelling and real influence in the public square.

The vision of the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) is to see Christian principles and ethics influencing the way we are governed do business and relate to each other as a community.

With over 250000 supporters Australia-wide ACL facilitates professional engagement and dialogue between the Christian constituency and government amplifying the voice of Christianity in the public square. ACL is neither party-partisan nor denominationally aligned bringing a Christian perspective to policy in Federal State and Territory Parliaments.

The role

Reporting to the Communications Manager youll own and grow ACLs social media presence and engagement across Facebook Instagram TikTok YouTube X and emerging platforms planning designing shooting editing and publishing content with short-form video as your strength.

Youll support our campaigns media activity and growth objectives with engaging social content and manage and moderate our online communities in a tone consistent with ACLs values. Most importantly youll use social listening and analytics to continuously refine and improve ACLs reach engagement and influence.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who can design shoot edit and publish quickly understands what works on each platform and know how to identify potential legal and reputation risk for review by management.

This role could be your next step if you:

• Possess sound communications judgement and strong attention to detail.
• Excel at writing concise engaging copy for social audiences.
• Are creative and responsive; you can design shoot edit and publish to a deadline.
• Have a strong instinct for what works on each platform especially short-form video.
• Understand the strengths and weaknesses of each social platform.
• Can assess potential legal and reputation risk in real time.
• Stay calm and consistent in the comments section and know when to escalate for review.
• Are adept at social listening and analytics to adjust and adapt your approach.

What youll bring

• Demonstrated experience managing social media channels for an organisation brand or public figure.
• Experience creating short-form video and visual content including designing shooting and editing (e.g. CapCut Adobe Premiere Canva or similar).
• Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
• Experience in advocacy politics media or values-based organisations is desirable.

Formal qualifications in communications or a related discipline are preferred; however equivalent hands-on experience will be strongly considered. If youre a gifted social media communicator who understands social platforms but may not tick every box we still encourage you to apply.
