About the role

The Senior Clinical Nurse Advisor - Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing infection prevention practice across our national Home and Community Care and Residential Aged Care services.

Reporting to the Manager Clinical Innovation and working within the Care Innovation Team you will serve as Bolton Clarkes organisational subject matter expert in Infection Prevention and Control. Youll work closely with clinical leaders and the Bolton Clarke Research Institute to translate emerging evidence into practice and lead programs that strengthen safety quality and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist IPC expertise across multiple service streams
• Lead and support infection prevention surveillance and outbreak management programs
• Drive evidence-informed practice antimicrobial stewardship and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyse infection surveillance and quality data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and review IPC policies procedures and guidelines aligned with regulatory requirements and national standards
• Partner with operational teams to build organisational capability through education coaching and mentoring
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including public health units industry networks and research partners
• Contribute to research innovation and the development of future models of care

About you

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention & Control or a related field
• You are an Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) professional with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes through evidence-based practice innovation and leadership
• Significant IPC experience across complex healthcare environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical practice change and influence senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with experience interpreting data and driving improvement initiatives
• Proven experience translating evidence into practice through quality improvement program implementation or service innovation
• Exceptional communication collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
