Site Engineer (RAAF Base Wagga)
The Riverina Redevelopment Join Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of exisiting infrustructure facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including;
- Albury Wodonga Military Area (AWMA)
- RAAF Base Wagga (RBW)
- Blamey Barracks Kapooka (BBK)
The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
- Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
- Construction of new training and mess facilities
- Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
- Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Reporting to the Project Manager you will contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of site works. Responsibilities may include monitoring progress against program resolving engineering and technical challenges coordinating subcontractors and supporting cost quality and schedule outcomes. You will also play an important role in promoting and upholding a strong Zero Harm safety culture.
- Coordinate and manage building services subcontractors across mechanical electrical fire hydraulic and associated trades to ensure works are delivered safely efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
- Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors consultants and project stakeholders to monitor progress resolve issues and maintain alignment with project objectives.
- Review and monitor project programs construction progress Requests for Information (RFIs) variations and associated documentation to support timely project delivery.
- Assist in the coordination of the design team architects consultants and construction personnel to ensure effective management of interfaces design deliverables and project milestones.
- Support the delivery of multi-storey building construction works including services installation concrete structures structural steel façade and fit-out activities.
- Provide regular reporting to Project Engineers Area Managers and Site Managers on construction progress risks disruptions and key project outcomes.
- Liaise with base stakeholders and external parties to coordinate disruptive works manage operational impacts and maintain positive stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering
- With at least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
- Strong background across a diverse portfolio of building projects including residential commercial hospitals living accommodations student housing and educational facilities complemented by exposure to key infrastructure works such as roads bridges utilities and general civil works.
- Experience delivering multi-storey building projects involving structural steel concrete façade fit-out and building services works.
- Highquality written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Skilled in delegating tasks setting clear expectations and ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required with eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance.
