About Us
Shooting Stars founded in 2015 is an education engagement program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women run by Glass Jar Australia under Netball WA. Operating in more than 20 sites across Western Australia and South Australia we reach over 1200 participants fostering confidence cultural identity and positive connections through various activities and support.
Role Overview
**This role can be full time or part time for the successful candidate**
Reporting to the Regional Manager the Program Coordinator will play an important role managing and delivering the Shooting Stars program aiming to boost school engagement and empower female students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Regional Manager and work with the Program Assistant to deliver the Shooting Stars program and its activities including mentoring advocacy health & wellbeing sessions yarning circles and participant rewards
- Build trusted and supportive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young women and participants
- Work collaboratively and foster relationships with Shooting Stars staff school staff community stakeholders and other service providers
- Assist with program monitoring and evaluation including attendance tracking data collection case studies and reporting
- Manage and monitor the sites budget to ensure expenditure aligns with program needs and financial guidelines
- Manage and support Shooting Stars staff
- Promote the program through social media and school newsletters
- Engage families and other stakeholders in program activities
Represent Shooting Stars with pride and role model respect and success within the community

In addition to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Experience with at-risk youth in education sports or career contexts.
- Commitment to advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation.
- Strong relationships with Aboriginal communities.
- Excellent communication networking and IT skills.
- Ability to plan prioritize and work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility in work hours and travel.
- Current WA C class drivers license Working with Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate dependent on level of experience.
