Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our team of industry this role you will deliver innovative solutions across the overhead transmission and distribution market with opportunities to work on generation and industrial high-voltage (HV) projects. You will lead transmission line design projects applying your technical expertise and project leadership skills to deliver high-quality outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the full lifecycle of critical infrastructure projects while mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative solutions across the overhead transmission and distribution market with exposure to generation and industrial HV projects.
• Lead transmission line design projects applying strong technical judgment and project leadership.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of Australian and international standards for overhead line design testing and commissioning.
• Utilise PLS-CADD including TOWER and POLE modules to deliver efficient and compliant designs.
• Understand and contribute across the full asset lifecyclefrom planning and design through construction operation and maintenance.
• Mentor and support junior engineers fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
• Provide technical advice to support upgrades improvements and innovation with a strong focus on safety and sustainability.
• Comply with all Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong electrical and/or structural engineering capability in transmission lines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused solution-oriented mindset.
• Resilience and adaptability in dynamic project environments.

Day-to-Day

• Lead and manage transmission line design projects ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
• Use PLS-CADD software including TOWER and POLE modules to create and refine designs.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Engage with clients to build strong relationships and identify opportunities for future projects.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide expert advice on upgrades improvements and safety-focused innovations.
• Ensure all work adheres to Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
