Position Description: Test Lead
Location:
Melbourne (Preferred) / Sydney (Secondary)
Experience Level:
1216 years
The Test Lead will be responsible for leading end-to-end testing activities across implementations including deployments customizations integrations and ongoing support. The role requires strong leadership capability to drive test strategy governance and delivery within Agile programs while ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with business needs.
Test Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage testing across implementations as applicable
- Own test strategy planning scheduling and execution across SIT UAT and regression cycles
- Drive defect triage resolution tracking and release readiness assurance
- Provide regular test reporting metrics and quality insights to stakeholders
- Perform and oversee testing of:
- Core functionalities and modules
- Customisations integrations and data migrations
- End-to-end business processes and workflows
- Ensure validation of APIs interfaces and external system integrations
- Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning stand-ups retrospectives)
- Perform estimation backlog review and workload distribution
- Ensure alignment with DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Maintain traceability across requirements test cases and defects
- Collaborate with business stakeholders SMEs architects and developers
- Lead and mentor QA teams (onshore/offshore)
- Facilitate UAT cycles and business validation workshops
- Communicate risks issues and mitigation plans effectively
Functional & Technical
- Proven experience in end-to-end testing across development and implementations
- Solid understanding of:
- Test planning estimation and execution
- Defect management and test reporting
- Integration and data validation testing
- Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps Jira or similar test management platforms
- Strong experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps testing practices
- Experience managing complex multi-stream testing programs
- Demonstrated Test Lead experience with team management responsibilities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight timelines
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency preferred
- Ability to drive quality outcomes across complex programs
- Strong balance of hands-on testing and leadership capability
- Effective collaboration across business and technology stakeholders
