About the position
Reporting to the Cluster Lead (Health) within Facilities and Technical Services this position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of laboratory support services within the Sport and Exercise Science Discipline at the Bundoora Campus. The role ensures the efficient delivery of teaching activities in full compliance with Health & Safety and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Key duties include the preparation setup and pack-down of laboratory equipment for classes along with managing ad hoc scheduling requests and ensuring the accurate coordination of timetabled activities. The position also involves inducting staff into laboratory procedures supporting teaching staff in the use of equipment monitoring stock levels and coordinating the ordering of equipment and consumables.
This role supports the undergraduate laboratory practical classes and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available to work 7 hrs 15 mins between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm. This will be rostered on a rotational basis.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position you will have
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned or extensive experience leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise developed through extensive relevant experience and application.
- Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
- Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
