Senior Strategy Specialist- Cellular Genomics Future Institute

• Employment Type: Part time; 17.5 hours per week
• Duration: 2 years fixed Term
• Remuneration: Professional Level 9 $153933 pro rata 17% super annual leave loading
• Location: Kensington New South Wales.

The Senior Strategy Specialist leads the translation of the Cellular Genomics Future Institutes strategic vision into operational delivery organisational capability and sustainable growth. Working closely with the Institute Director the role drives strategic planning business development governance institutional partnerships and major cross-functional initiatives ensuring alignment with Faculty University and broader research priorities.

The role identifies and develops new funding commercial and partnership opportunities across research healthcare government philanthropy and industry while establishing effective governance and performance frameworks to support the Institutes long-term sustainability and translational impact. The Senior Strategy Specialist also acts as a key strategic adviser to the Director and represents the Institute with senior internal and external stakeholders.

The role reports to the Institute Director and has no direct reports.

Some key skills required:

• Qualifications in biomedical science genomics medicine health business innovation management or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and senior leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading organisational strategy institutional development or major strategic initiatives within research healthcare biotechnology or innovation environments.
• Proven ability to translate strategic vision into operational execution and measurable organisational outcomes.
• Strong business development experience including building partnerships across academia healthcare government philanthropy and industry.
• Demonstrated success securing major funding through competitive grants strategic partnerships or commercial agreements.
• Experience developing sustainable business models and evaluating commercialisation opportunities.
• Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks organisational policies and executive reporting processes.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement negotiation and influencing skills with demonstrated political judgement and executive presence.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including preparation of Board papers strategic proposals and investment cases.
• Experience leading organisational change and complex cross-functional programs in large matrixed organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and develop high-performing professional teams.
• Experience working within regulated clinical healthcare or research environments is highly desirable including familiarity with quality systems accreditation or governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of translational genomics precision medicine biomedical research or related sectors would be highly regarded.
