Job Summary

We operate 15 disaster relief hubs globally stocked with emergency supplies including blankets medical devices and tarps. Working alongside local organisations and first responders we leverage Amazons core strengths in logistics technology and innovation to support communities in crisis. Since 2017 weve donated and delivered more than 26 million relief items across 200 disasters worldwide.

This is a newly created role responsible for managing disaster relief operations across the APAC region. Were looking for a passionate and innovative Senior Program Manager to lead Amazons Disaster Relief Program supporting assets and programs across India Japan and Australia.

This position requires full-time in-office presence 5 days per week at our CBD location.


Key job responsibilities
Develop and execue relief item strategies including procurement inventory planning kit assembly packaging and hub pre-positioning across APAC
Act as Incident Manager when disasters occur coordinating end-to-end logistics and supply chain to deliver relief materials quickly
Partner with NGOs and organisations such as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement treating them as key customers
Lead and coordinate disaster relief efforts across India Japan Australia and broader APAC adapting global strategies for regional markets
Influence global hub strategy using regional data and operational experience and drive process improvements across all offerings
Support donation approval processes and manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external partners
Build channels for customers and employees to participate in relief efforts


- Significant relevant experience (program management operations logistics or disaster response)
- Strong cross-functional program or project management experience
- Experience delivering cross-functional projects across tech and non-tech teams
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering with people at all levels within an organisation

- Masters degree or MBA in business operations human resources adult education organisational development instructional design or related field
- Experience in a high-volume environment such as a security operations centre event security call centre or crisis management/emergency response centre
- Experience in retail operations supply chain transportation or warehousing/inventory management
- Experience developing and implementing operational excellence programs and training initiatives
- Experience writing playbooks creating mechanisms and delivering measurable results in ambiguous agile environments
- Passion for disaster relief; direct disaster relief experience preferred
