In this full-time permanent youll work as a part of our DFSV Support Counsellor/Womens Advocate Service team in Mt Isa/Gulf region to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. You will be travelling between the Gulf communities of Doomadgee Normanton and Mornington Island providing therapeutic support and advocacy.

You will make a difference by:

• Providing therapeutic interventions to people who have experienced domestic family or sexual assault and/or violence from first disclosure to investigation and criminal prosecution.
• Undertaking evidence-based and trauma focused assessments case formulation goal setting counselling advocacy group work and crisis response
• Working collaboratively with the client and key agencies (non-statutory and statutory) to advocate for assess and respond to identified risk
• Providing advocacy and support for people as agreed by them within the broader service system including police judicial medical educational child protection and community services
• Assisting in the delivery of community education and professional training
• Providing coaching and advice to other internal colleagues.
• Providing support for the Mens Behavioural Change Program Victim/Survivors
