We act for the roleIn this exciting new role you will lead efforts to enhance the capability and capacity of communities and key partners to prepare for and respond to the growing risks of extreme heat in Greater Melbourne. You will also engage private sector partners contribute to research and evidence-building and drive policy influence and public awareness to support effective long-term adaptation to extreme you will bringDemonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in disaster resilience and community development principlesSound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess evaluate and solve problems and exercise initiative and judgmentHigh level of knowledge and skills and proven ability in developing and delivering training workshops and discipline knowledge gained through experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships across to work under general direction from senior employees exercise a degree of autonomy and work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds to create a collaborative working environmentAbility to set priorities plan and organise their own work and that of other relevant staff and/or volunteersExperience in disaster resilience emergency management or community that act for you while you act for humanityWork flexibility:Australian Red Cross operates under a hybrid working model which includes two days on-site and three days from homeFinancial wellbeing: In addition to your salary you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
