How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
- Design analyse and verify mechanicalstructuraland thermalsystems to meetallocatedrequirements prioritising massoptimisationand manufacturability.
- Utilize the full spectrum of the design analysis test and manufacturing tools to create efficient structures and components.
- Ownership of product delivery timeline through conception design assembly andqualification.
- Develop test plans for parts through development qualification and acceptance testing.
- Review specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts.
- Analyse and interpret data collected during testingleading to correlation of representative mathematical models.
- Ability to problem solve and understand complex problems; incumbent must be able to resolve situations that demand solutions.
- Other duties as requested by Management.
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Aerospace or Structural Engineering.
- 5 years of experience with mechanical or structural design(dynamics)and analysis in a professional setting (excluding internships).
- 5years experiencewith CAD designing parts and assemblies.
- 5years experiencewith at least one commercial FEA or Multiphysics simulation package.
- 5 years hands-on hardware experience associated with fabrication assembly integration and/or testing.
- Experience withthe management of large CAD assembly models
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T
- Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systemsinhigh vibrationenvironments
- Demonstratedunderstanding of precisionmechanical engineering such as repeatable mounting
- Demonstrated understanding ofstructures with respect tothermo-elastic distortion
- Demonstrated understanding of thermalheat transfer in a vacuum environment
- Analytical/scientific programming experience (NASTRAN AnsysPythonMatlab Excel etc).
- Eligibility to obtain a NV1 Security Clearance.
- Well-developed communication interpersonal conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians engineers and managers.
- Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking organizational communication and documentation skills.
- Proven Ability to prioritize and manage work demands and deliver outcomes
- Self-motivated results oriented witha high levelof attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety quality assurance continuous improvement and environmental management
